DMARC Policy Analyzer Guide

DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance) prevents email spoofing. This tool checks if a domain has published a DMARC TXT record and parses its syntax.

Supported Inputs

• Domain Name: e.g., example.com

How to Interpret the Output

• Raw Record: The actual TXT string found at _dmarc.yourdomain.com.
• Policy (p=):
  • none: Monitors email without affecting delivery.
  • quarantine: Sends failed emails to the spam folder.
  • reject: Blocks failed emails entirely.

Realistic Example

Querying paypal.com will return a DMARC record with p=reject, meaning any email claiming to be from PayPal that fails SPF/DKIM alignment will be rejected outright by recipient servers.

Common Errors & Limitations

• No Record Found: Ensure the TXT record is published at the exact _dmarc subdomain.
• Syntax Errors: Missing semicolons or unsupported tags will render the DMARC record invalid. This tool helps visualize the tags but does not enforce full RFC compliance parsing.
